The main ingredient in this recipe is brown mushroom. Do you know that brown mushrooms are tastier than white ones? 70 grams of brown mushrooms contain 15 different vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Moreover, they are richer in calories, protein, and fat. 100 grams of brown mushrooms contain 35 calories, 5 g of protein, 0.5 g of fat, and 2.5 g of carbohydrates.
Creminis, baby bellas, portabellas, and portobellos are more nutritious than white mushrooms. They contain macronutrients that support a healthy immune system. For example, portabella mushrooms contain selenium, which helps prevent cell damage. Cremini and portobello mushrooms contain a powerful antioxidant called ergothioneine, which helps in the same way. They stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut.
Exquisite Brown Mushrooms – HOW YOU CHOOSE THEM
When you buy them, pay attention to these things. First, brown mushrooms are fresh when they have a firm texture. Secondly, when they have full hats, Thirdly, when they have that specific smell of earth and grass.
Exquisite Brown Mushrooms – COOKING TECHNIQUES
What’s the best way to cook them? Grilling or microwaving preserves the mushrooms’ nutritional properties. When fried, they lose protein, antioxidants and increase in fat. When cooking, spread them into one layer in the pan. Avoid crowding because they do not brown well. There’s no mistake if you salt them at the end of cooking. You can eat them immediately when they are ready. And even you can store them in the fridge for up to 3 days.
I often prepare brown mushrooms because they are good for maintaining health. Moreover, you can serve these mushrooms as a side or a main. As a side, they go with chicken breast, steak, or pork chops. As a main, the baked brown mushrooms may go with mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and rice. Enjoy the health benefits of these mushrooms and add a savory flavor to your meals! Here is the recipe I prepare many times because mushrooms are so good and tasty.
